We kindly remind our registered Belgians that it is their own responsibility to ensure their travel documents remain valid. If you need to apply for a new passport or identity card, we recommend checking appointment availability and processing times before booking any trip, to avoid inconvenience. Please note that we are unable to offer earlier appointments on request. Upcoming travel or visa applications cannot be treated as emergencies. At certain times of the year, demand may be high, and appointments may not always be available at your preferred moment. Appointments can be booked up to three months in advance, so planning ahead is strongly encouraged.
If you find yourself in an unforeseen situation and urgently require a passport, we kindly request that you contact us by email consulate.dublin@diplobel.fed.be with a clear explanation and the relevant supporting documents. We will do our very best to assist you. Please note that priority will be given to those travelling for urgent humanitarian reasons.
Repeated calls or emails will not speed up the process, and we kindly ask for respectful communication with our colleagues at all times.
